Rounding out a family

Bonk loves to lay on the kitchen counter, a habit we need to break!

After losing a beloved cat to cancer last year, I was determined not to bring another cat into our home until we took a break. However, after visiting the cat rooms at the Camden-Rockport Animal Rescue League (also my new employer), I started to get the “itch” to add to our family once more.
I had my eye on two cats in particular, not kittens, as I thought a busy kitten would be too much for my older cat to handle. I was trying desperately to make a connection to one cat in particular, but he wasn’t interested. I decided to try a different cat room, and I sat down in the chair in the adolescent room. I gorgeous black and white tuxedo cat came right over to me and sat in my lap. I was smitten. He sat there happily until I had to go back to work. I took him home that day.
We decided that the name “Brett” didn’t suit him, and during our foster period, we discovered his affinity for bonking people with his head. Therefore he is now “Bonk”. We are so happy to have him with us!
